About me

Community driven. Education forward baking.

I bake with kids.

They learn things along the way.

That’s the headline.

I spent nearly two decades in New York as a consultant - most recently as a Managing Director - sitting in rooms with very smart adults who couldn’t focus, plan, follow through, or regulate their emotions… the same skills we expect kids to magically pick up somewhere along the way.

I’ve also lived in the South Street Seaport since moving from Australia in 2008. This neighborhood is where I built my life. It’s where my kid is growing up. And it’s where I’m testing a new idea of what “lifestyle” actually means - one that includes ambition, creativity, work, parenting, community, and happiness, all at once.

Watching the next generation enter the workforce without basic executive function skills is terrifying.

I don’t want to wait until my daughter is 25 and sitting in one of those rooms to fix it.

So I do a lot of things. On purpose.

I bake with kids.

I write children’s books.

I host a podcast for ambitious, curious, selfish moms.

I build communities.

I teach skills that actually matter - sometimes disguised as cookies.

It’s not just about baking. It’s about building people.

Your Questions,

Answered

  • Nope. I’m a home baker.

I bake in real kitchens, with real kids, and very real messes.

  • Yes - but don’t tell the kids.

The learning sneaks in while they’re measuring, waiting, adjusting, and finishing what they start.

  • Absolutely not.

Curiosity helps. Everything else can be learned (or frosted over).

  • Generally kids ages 4-10, but I care more about attention span than age.

Some 4 year olds crush it. Some 10 year olds… need a moment.

  • So here’s the thing.

Helping is allowed. Hovering is optional. Parents sometimes step in and course correct. That’s totally fine if that’s what you prefer. But I’ll probably encourage you to let your kid make the mess - and not get it right, right away.

  • Definitely not.

Perfect is boring. The process is the point. I promise everything still tastes delicious.

  • Because baking naturally teaches patience, planning and follow-through. And at the end, there’s usually something good to eat.

  • Yes. Intentionally.

Nothing catastrophic, but perfection is not part of the plan. I promise I have great tips to manage your anxiety over the mess and make your life easier.

  • I’ve watched it work - with my own child, parents on playdates and myself.

  • This is where I live, bake and build things.

Community feels different when it’s local.

  • Nope.

    Curiosity is enough.

  • I spent over 20 years as a consultant, most recently as a Managing Director.

The same frameworks used to help adults think, plan, and execute work surprisingly well for kids - especially when frosting is involved.

  • Because I’ve seen what happens when we wait too long. It’s a lot harder to learn focus, planning, and follow-through at 25 than it is at 5.

  • Fries.

I will never say no to fries.

  • Paw Paw Cream.

I’m Australian. Aussies know what I’m talking about.

  • Meringues. Because I LOVE to lick the bowl and sneak a few spoonfuls of the meringue before it’s baked.

  • I’m Australian!

I moved to New York when I was 25 - 17 years ago (yes… I’m okay with you doing the math!)

My accent is still Aussie… I think!
